Welcome to Single lens Relaxed Photography, or short: SLRP. My name is Hubregt Visser. I’m a full time scientist. In my spare time I like to photograph and recently I’ve developed an interest in blogging. So, as a result I’ve started this photography blog. My photography level I would describe as ‘advanced amateur’. I’m still in the process of learning photography.
Just another photography blog?
So, what makes this blog different from other blogs? The web is crowded with – very, very good – photography blogs. There is something I do miss though. I can find posts about how to things right. What I would also like to see is how to do things wrong. I mean: I’d like to see before (wrong) and after (right) pictures. I know that – in general – you have to learn from making your own mistakes. However, I think that in photography you can also learn a lot from other people’s mistakes.
What posts to expect?
I’ll be writing posts about technique, like shutter speed, aperture, depth of field and ISO. Then I’ll also post about composition, tips, things to photograph and post processing. With the exception of the technique-related posts I’ll try to include before and after pictures as much as possible. In that way I hope to be of interest for fellow amateur photographers. To start with I have, next to this welcome post, already uploaded posts on aperture, shutter speed and ISO.
I intend to post not more than once a week. So, if you subscribe to my newsletter, I won’t spam your mail box. Your mail information will not be shared with third parties.
I’m intending to experiment with advertising from third parties on this blog. But as said your mail information will not be shared with third parties. Also, compensation received will never influence the content, topics or posts made in this blog.

In the newsletter I will notify you when I have published a new post or posts. The mailing frequency will not be more than once a week.
In the free e-book, I will discuss the exposure triangle: shutter speed, aperture and ISO. Also the ‘rule of thirds’, a powerful composition technique will be treated. The book is in PDF form.
